Vaulting Fees

We assess members fees to cover the cost of vaulting, insurance.

0 - 500 Gold Dollars 0.05% per month
500 Gold Dollars and up 0.02% per month
Silver Dollars 0.05% per month

Fees are denominated in precious metals, so the U.S. dollar equivalent may vary. See the examples below for typical fee comparisons.

For Goldback® accounts, all vaulting, insurance, and membership dues are fully covered by Goldback Inc. at no cost to the member.
**Fees are always pulled from the metal holdings in a members account

Miscellaneous Fees

These are various service fees to support secure transactions, account services, and optional conveniences. All fees are deducted from the member's metal holdings unless otherwise stated.

Additional Service Fees

Special Requests: Signature delivery, overnight delivery, requests for specific years of Goldbacks (2 years+ before the current issue), or Coins, etc., can incur additional charges.

$0 Buy/Sell Spread

Alpine Gold Exchange offers UPMA members a unique advantage with its $0 buy/sell spread policy, allowing for the liquidation of vaulted gold, Goldbacks and silver—purchased through Alpine Gold—at full UPMA Membership Rates, up to $10,000 per month. This eliminates the typical loss seen with traditional buy/sell spreads, enhancing investment efficiency.

  • Applies only to gold, Goldbacks and silver purchased through Alpine Gold and vaulted with UPMA.
  • $10,000/month limit: The no-spread benefit applies only to the first $10,000 liquidated or exchanged in a calendar month.
  • Transactions above this threshold may incur standard market spreads rather than Membership Rates.

Out-of-Network Fees:

Out-of-network fees at Alpine Gold apply when members bring precious metals from outside our established network. These fees are designed to cover the additional costs associated with integrating these metals into our system. Essentially, they help ensure that members can still access the benefits of our services, even if their metals originated elsewhere.

Members depositing out-of-network Goldbacks MUST pay the network fee, as Alpine GoldExchange will not vault out-of-network Goldbacks.

Member to Merchant Transaction Fee:

Within the UPMA closed-loop network, members may pay merchants for goods and/or services using their metal holdings. A 1% transaction fee may apply depending on the recipient of the funds.

Earnings & Commissions

In addition to our competitive rates and fees, we provide our members with various earning opportunities that further enhance their financial experience. Members can participate in interest-earning lease programs, allowing them to generate income from their metal holdings while retaining ownership. Additionally, our referral commission program rewards members for introducing new clients to Alpine Gold, creating a win-win situation that fosters community growth and engagement. These initiatives are designed to empower our members to maximize their investments and benefit from their connections within our network.

Referral Commissions
Members can earn a commission of 2% on Goldback sales and 0.5% on net Gold or Silver Coin sales from members they recruit. The total commission is capped at a maximum of $1,000 per year.

Lease Return Payouts
Lease return payments are the interest earned by members who lease their gold coins or Goldbacks. Members receive fractional monthly payments credited directly to their accounts.

Gold Lease
2.0% APR - Minimum 10 gold dollars. Interest paid out in Gold coins. One year term.

Goldback® Lease
Interest paid out in Goldbacks®. Open-ended term. Waitlist Open.

  • 2.0% APR for amounts between 10 and 30,000 Goldbacks®
  • 2.5% APR for amounts between 30,000 and 75,000 Goldbacks®
  • 3.0% APR for amounts over 75,000 Goldbacks®
